Geilo, Norway offers superb snow, empty slopes and lovely people – arguably the best resort in the world for beginners, intermediates and families.
Incredible snow conditions, some of the most reliable in Europe, plus perfectly groomed and empty slopes make Geilo a unique resort. Skiers will be happy on the impeccably maintained pistes. All ski instructors speak fluent English, which always helps. The resort itself is a low-rise village overlooking a frozen lake.
The village is actually split in two, the Slatta village is the main area, and 2km away you’ll find the quiet Geilo. Just the luxury Vestlia Hotel and the Forest Cabins are found here but it’s got the ski school, rentals and slopes just a few steps away. From Geilo accessing the main village and ski runs is easy on the shuttle bus.
It’s not just all about the skiing in Norway. Off the slopes there’s some amazing activities to try – from dog sledding to a high rope course in the treetops.
